- Methodological explanations
Materially deprived persons have living conditions constrained by a lack of financial resources, irrespective of persons’ preference with respect to these items. They experience at least three or four out of nine following deprivations items: cannot afford 1] to pay rent or utility bills, 2] to keep home adequately warm, 3] to face unexpected expenses, 4] to eat meat, fish or a protein equivalent every second day, 5] a week holiday away from home, 6] a car, 7] a washing machine, 8] a colour TV, or 9] a telephone. The deprivation items are the same as in the indicator 'material deprivation rate'.
COHESION REGION
Data are territorially classsified according to The Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics – NUTS, level NUTS 2.
YEAR
The data published for the last year are provisional, while the data for all previous years are final. The data published for the last year become final with the publishing of the data for the next year.
