Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Data are presented according to the classification valid at the specific reference period. In case of minor changes within a classification, the last valid category texts are presented. Major changes of Combined Nomenclature codes are listed on the Methodological website on Intrastat. In some cases the totals do not agree with data because of data confidentiality. In line with the European statistical legislation (Regulation (EC) No 222/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council, Regulation (EC) No 471/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council) the so called passive confidentiality is used in external trade statistics. Classification of countries: Countries are presented according to the Nomenclature of Countries and Territories for the External Trade Statistics of the Community and Statistics of Trade between Member States – Geonomenclature (description in the Eurostat classification server - RAMON). Data at exports are shown by the country of destination. Data at imports on trade with EU member states (Intrastat) are shown by the country of dispatch. Data at imports on trade with EU non-member countries (Extrastat) are shown by the country of origin. Due to the adjustment to Intrastat methodology, in the imports data broken down by countries the country of consignment is taken into account also for the period before the accession to the EU if it was an EU member state and the country of origin if it was not an EU member state.
