Due to the coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19), public passenger transport was stopped on 16 March 2020 with the Ordinance on the Temporary Prohibition and Restrictions on Public Passenger Transport in the Republic of Slovenia. It was re-established in Slovenia on 11 May 2020 in an adapted form.
Data on passengers from 2005 to 2010 are estimates calculated in order to eliminate the impact of transfer of some larger companies to the usage of the electronic ticket validation.
The data on passengers in urban scheduled transport from September 2016, have been partly estimated due to the introduction of a new integrated public transport system (IJPP) and the new system of subsidised tickets for public transport (the estimates were prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure).
