INSTITUTIONAL SECTOR

Data on earnings are published by institutional sectors according to the Standard Classification of Institutional Sectors.
Institutional sectors are composed of institutional units, which are elementary economic decision-making centres characterised
by uniformity of behaviour and decision-making autonomy in the exercise of its principal function. Criteria for the allocation of the
institutional units in the institutional sectors are marketability and control.

INSTITUTIONAL SECTOR


We distinguish the following main institutional sectors:
non-financial corporations, financial corporations, general government, households, non-profit institutions serving households and the rest of the world.
