Share of gross domestic expenditure on research and development in gross domestic product (%)

The indicator shows gross domestic expenditure on research and development as a share of Slovenian gross domestic product.
Break of the time series in 2008 and 2011.
Data for the period 2019-2021 have been revised.
Data for 2022 are provisional.

Employment in high- and medium-high technology manufacturing sectors (%)

The indicator shows the employment in high- and medium-high technology manufacturing sectors as a share of total employment.

The indicator shows the employment in knowledge-intensive service sectors as a share of total employment.

Total research and development personnel (full-time equivalent )

Employee data are presented in two ways: the first is counting per head (the total number of people who worked in research and development during the reference period) and the second way is to show the number of full-time equivalent employees.
Until 2016, total number of persons engaged in R&D includes only internal employees, without external collaborators.
Data for the period 2019-2021 have been revised.
Data for 2022 are provisional.

The total European patent applications refer to requests for protection of an invention directed either directly to the European Patent Office (EPO) or filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty and designating the EPO (Euro-PCT), regardless of whether they are granted or not.

Share of railway public passenger transport in total passenger land transport (%)

The indicator shows the ratio of passenger kilometres made in total passenger land transport by means of transport (train).

The indicator shows the ratio of passenger kilometres made in total passenger land transport by means of transport (bus).

Share of rail activity in total freight transport (%)

The indicator is defined as the percentage of each mode of transport in total inland transport.
Break in time series in 2005 due to recalculation of road freight transport from residence to territory principle. From 2005 onwards the transport on national territory is taken into account, regardless of the nationality of the haulier.
