Notes

Since January 2018 the source of data for the calculation of the average annual retail prices of goods and services for the first two divisions of the ECOICOP classification, e.g. Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, are exclusively the scanner data (retailer's transaction data). The calculation of average annual retail prices has been changed from arithmetic mean to geometric mean. The specification of individual goods (elementary aggregates – EA) of the first two divisions of the ECOICOP is more loose. EAs include more goods than before and aren't as homogenic as in the previous years. Therefore, the break in the series, as the average annual retail prices of food and beverages are not comparable with data from previous years. The preceding table with average annual retail prices till 2018 has been moved to the archive.
